Farrah Fawcett was an American actress, artist and model, best known for playing the role of 'The Apostle'. She was nominated at least six times in the Golden Globe Award and four times for the Emmy Award. The beginning of her career was at Corpus Christi in Texas. Her TV guest appearances include "I Dream of Jeannie,"' 'The Flying Nun" along with other series. The actress made her debut in the film industry with a supporting performance in the French comedy "Love is a Funny Thing. She became internationally known for her famous red swimsuit poster that eventually grew into the top-selling pin-up poster of all time. The following years she was a part of numerous TV series and movies that helped establish her in the industry as a sex icon. In the cult crime drama show Charlie's Angels, she played the role of a detective. The show followed three women living in Los Angeles who work in a detective agency. In addition to playing glamorous roles she is also known for her dramatic performances like the one as a battered wife on the TV film "The Burning bed'. She was listed as 26 in TV Guide's list of the '50 greatest TV stars of all-time'. When she was 59 her diagnosis was anal carcinoma and died within three years.
